In Stillness

In total darkness, with the light literally in my hands, I sculpt light onto my subject, photographing a different quality of light in each exposure. Then, with painterly precision, I combine my digital negatives. Beginning with the darkest darks, I paint light back into the image. Layer by layer, the form and detail are gradually revealed in a manner reminiscent of the Dutch Masters.
